Und wieder gibt’s Neuigkeiten bezüglich Updates für Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

Sony Ericsson war nie für seine Update Politik bekannt, im Gegenteil, in der Hinsicht hat SE jahrelang geschlampt. Aber das Unternehmen weiß sich zu behaupten und weiter zu entwickeln, so dürfen sich beinahe alle devices aus dem Hause Xperia über ein Update freuen:

• Xperia neo V
• Xperia ray
• Xperia arc S
• Xperia PLAY
• Xperia neo
• Xperia mini und mini pro
• Xperia pro
• Xperia active
• Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman

Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V und das Xperia ray sind die ersten, die sich über ICS Ende April/Mai 2012 freuen. Danach werden alle weiteren Telefone nachziehen. Auf dem offiziellen SE Blog werden übrigens die einzelnen Schritte bis zur Veröffentlichung eines Updates dargestellt:

• It starts with public push when we as a manufacturer get access to the new Android release from Google
• Our developers take the existing Xperia™ software and combine it with the new Android release
• Once the coding is done we want to make sure the quality of the new software meets our, our partners and your expectations
• Now we feel the new software is ready but we also need to make sure it’s approved by our external partners

Damit möchte man wohl ein wenig den Unmut über die Zeitspanne im Keim ersticken, der eventuell aufkommen könnte. Ich finde allerdings schon die Tatsache, dass so viele Xperia Telefone in das Update involviert werden, super.
